After working several years for Huey's FINA, James Posey bought the business from Ervin on January 1st, 1988, which shorlty therafter turned into Posey's 66, located in the heart of downtown Benton (acr
oss the street from the Saline County Courthouse). The location was perfect, being the oldest still-operational gas station in Benton (the building was originally a City Service Gas Station in the '30s) and the wonderful people of Benton immediately supported him and his venture. Posey kept busy throughout the '90s with Oil Changes, Flat Tires, an abundance of then-required State Vehicle Inspections and all of the Full-Service gas that he could handle. In the early 2000s, a good friend of the Posey family was looking to retire, and Posey purchased Gerald Wilson's Automotive, where Posey's Service is now located, which allowed a much larger waiting area, covered customer parking area, and a larger space with 5 vehicle repair bays. The building's original use was the local (Cochran - Newbill's) Oldsmobile Dealership and still functions well for Posey's. Fast forward to today, with the 3 best Auto Repair Technicians in the history of Posey's Service, the latest tools and equipment, extensive training and expertise and our new Shop Dog / Greeter, Biscuit, Posey's Service offers a one-stop shop for all of Saline County's maintenance and repair needs.
