After nearly four decades with Shelley’s Auto Sales, **Les Shelley will retire at the end of August**.
Shelley’s Auto Sales was founded in 1982 by Les and Zack’s late father, Merrill Shelley. Les and Zack joined their father in the business in the late 1980s, learning the business alongside him and helping with its daily operation. Around 2001, the brothers took over the leadership of the dealership and began the next chapter of the Shelley family business.
Under the partnership of Les and Zack, Shelley’s Auto Sales grew tremendously. Their shared commitment, hard work, and complementary strengths helped transform the dealership while preserving the values on which their father founded it. Through changing markets, difficult seasons, and years of growth, Les has been a constant presence in the daily operation and success of the business.
Les’s influence reaches far beyond the vehicles sold or the growth of the dealership. He has helped build lasting relationships with generations of customers, employees, vendors, and members of the Central Texas community. His experience, judgment, and steady dedication have shaped Shelley’s Auto Sales into the business it is today.
Although Zack and the rest of the Shelley’s Auto Sales family will miss working alongside him each day, we are deeply grateful for everything Les has contributed and proud to celebrate this well-earned retirement.
