Sap, Sand, S'mores & Smoke
A summer well spent leaves evidence. Here's how ours has been going and how to get yours out of the carpet.
We pointed the car south and kept going
This summer has been rough on our car. We took the family down through the redwoods to see the kind of trees where you tip your head back for a full minute and still never find the top. From there it was over to the Oregon dunes, where the kids kicked up loads of sand, and finished it off with a camping trip in the San Juans.
Every mile was a reminder of why we've made a commitment to providing the best in eco-friendly auto car. We get to live somewhere with old growth, cold clean water, and air worth breathing, and we'd like to keep it that way.
Here's the thing about a summer like ours: your car keeps the receipts.
Dune sand finds its way into every seat rail and works itself deep into the carpet backing, where a shop vac just skates over it. Marshmallow ends up welded to the console. And the particles in the air from wildfires are nastier than it looks, it's abrasive and slightly alkaline, so wiping it off dry drags it straight across your clear coat, and it settles into the cowl where your fresh air intake pulls it right back into the cabin.
Our steam-based interior detail lifts all of it out — sand from the seat tracks, sticky spots off the leather, ash and pollen from the vents — all without the harsh chemicals. You get your car back feeling like the trip never happened. The photos can stay.
It's been 80° all month. Your basic tint isn't cutting it but we've got you covered.
We get the same call every week this time of year: "my windows are already tinted, so why is my car still an oven?"
Most film is built to block light, not heat. Standard dyed and carbon tints reject roughly a quarter of infrared radiation and infrared is the part of sunlight that actually cooks your cabin. Going darker doesn't fix it.
We offer XPEL PRIME XR PLUS which is a different animal. Its multi-layer nano-ceramic construction does the work that dark glass can't:
We offer tint removal, so we'd be happy to get rid of that old factory tint that isn't doing it's job.
We're taking a little longer, on purpose with our new product.
We told you something new was landing this summer. It's running behind while we work out a few operational kinks on our end.
Here's what we can tell you: we're building an Eco Car Cafe Membership program offering detialing and auto care subscriptions. Built for your vehicles needs whether thats a simple wash, cleaning up after pets and family, or premium white glove service.
Our subscriptions are designed to take car care off your to-do list entirely. It's built around how you actually use your vehicles. It's our same amazing eco-friendly care, streamlined scheduling, no guesswork - your vehicle just the way you want it. Details soon and our waitlist gets notified first.
A cleaner car shouldn't cost the planet
That's not a tagline for us, it's the reason we operate carbon neutral, use steam and organic products instead of harsh solvents. It's the whole idea behind our Eco Pledge, and it's why we're truly different from other detailers.
Until now, we've operated that alone but no we get to invite you to practice this generousity and give back. Starting this month, you can stand alongside us and support the causes dear to us. We've set up direct payment links to the things we back. Every dollar (minus a small transaction fee) goes straight to the organizations, not to us.
Thanks for reading, and thanks for support local businesses. Continue to enjoy the summer and when the sand starts showing up in places sand shouldn't be, you know where we are. 😎
