This is a 1998 Puch G320 that was imported into the United States in 2001. It is interesting history.......The Puch G320 is the Austrian-market version of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class (W463). It is essentially the same vehicle as the Mercedes G320, but with different badging due to a partnership between Daimler-Benz and Steyr-Daimler-Puch. Under the agreement, G-Wagons sold in Austria, Switzerland, and select Eastern European markets were badged as Puch, while the rest of the world received them as Mercedes-Benz. A Notable way to tell is the Shift K**b does not have the Mercedes Star, it boasts a "G". For collectors and enthusiasts, 1998 is often considered a "sweet spot" in G-Wagon history for several reasons: The 722.6 Transmission: By 1998, the 5-speed automatic was standard. This transmission is much smoother and more reliable for highway cruising than the older 4-speeds found in early 90s models. W463 Luxury: The interior by this year featured the updated dashboard with better ergonomics, more wood trim, and improved climate control, making it feel less like a tractor and more like a premium SUV. Modern Safety: Dual airbags and ABS were standard by this point, providing a safety net that the earlier 460/461 series lacked.
it would be our guess, it was rebadged prior to its arrival in the U.S.. Our customer owned in from 2007 until 2012, when we sold it for him to another customer who just recently decided to sell it due to the fact they do not drive it enough. Really, really clean example.
