We have officially entered the TransAmerican Endurance Run, and in September next year we expect to point this nearly 100-year-old Italian motorcycle west and attempt to make our way from Maine to Oregon.

And this time, Julie is coming along in the sidecar. And she’s going to ride some days while I eat popsicles in the sidecar!

There are probably easier ways to cross the United States. A modern motorcycle would be faster. A pickup truck would be more comfortable. An airplane would certainly be more reliable. Naturally, we have chosen a 1928 Moto Guzzi Sport 14 with a sidecar . Renata is going back on the road.

Stopped off and had lunch in Cape Girardeau, MO, on our way back to Wisconsin from Daytona bike week. It was a flood of Cannonball memories. Had lunch in the alley, at our dinner spot on the run. Bartender was working the day Motorcycle cannonball was there!

Riveter Chapter of the AMCA is hosting an AMCA National Road Run in Southeast Kentucky next May! This one is open to all AMCA members who will be riding antique motorcycles 35 years old or older. To receive more information as it becomes available, sign up at the Riveter Chapter website (first comment below). just received an email confirmation from Joel at PBS Wisconsin. Motorcycle Cannonball, the story of the Italian Motto Guzzi will be airing on the program Wisconsin Life on Thursday, October 31st at 7pm statewide and on your local PBS channel. It will also rebroadcast several times the following days. The entire show along with the individual episode will also be available for viewing online.

It will also broadcast on Milwaukee PBS most likely on these dates (not 100% confirmed but looks like Friday, November 15, 6pm, Sunday, November 17 at 6:30pm and Monday, November 18 at 4pm.
