On the evening of 08/13/26 to the early hours of 08/14/26, someone walked through the heavily wooded area behind our shop, avoided our cameras, and slipped through a very small opening in the metal building. They attempted to steal a brand new set of digital torque wrenches, a noko jump box, a 1/2 Milwaukee impact, some Milwaukee batteries, a Milwaukee charger, and a job site radio.
I first noticed my brand new torque wrenches were missing at the end of the day Friday 08/14/26. I thought the guys played a prank on me. But we realized a few other misc items were missing as well. Today, we found and recovered every item, as well as found the path behind our shop that the assailant used. This person failed miserably and didn’t get away with anything! We did not make a police report, because we were unsure what happened. We reviewed 8 hours of footage and saw nothing. Without hard evidence I did not want to make a report, waste resources, etc without being sure.
We found this entrance by fluke today and noticed what appeared to be the edge of the Milwaukee radio. We investigated and found the items right outside this entrance, and scattered all the way through very dense terrain, up to a barbed wire fence. My theory is that this person had inside knowledge to our camera system, and that we had valuable items. You cannot even see the shop until you’re right on top of it if you were to take this path. Someone had to know how to get to our building. Or maybe it was someone under the influence and wandering. We may never know.
We did not have cameras inside the shop but we will be installing them tonight. We have done a full inventory of everything else, customer vehicles, and everything seems untouched. Whoever this was came in fast, grabbed some items, and panicked on their way out. I would assume they probably have cuts and scratches all over them based on the terrain.
I would like to be very clear, if you break in while one of us is here, we will shoot you and call the police after.
The saddest part is if they came in and asked me for some money I would’ve probably given it to them. Make sure to remove any valuables out of your vehicle at night and lock your car and house doors. Crime is on the up and up in our great little town. Thanks for listening, and God bless.
