Race #6 Recap & Schedule Change! Our Final Race for 2026 has been moved to 9/19/26! We are not racing on Labor Day weekend for our Final Race. Our final race will now be on Saturday 9/19/26.

Great Racing this past weekend everyone! Once again we had some new drivers on the WMKC grid!! We had a first time Feature Race Winner in the Senior Briggs Class, and we had a feature race winner in Super 4 Cycle, who I am pretty sure hasn't taken the top step of the podium for a few years! It was nice to see Liorah back!

The racing was good on Saturday! We had a couple new faces on the grid and in the pits. We had some new faces on the podium and we had a first time feature winner in Senior L206! I enjoyed seeing the Briggs Animal kart come out of retirement and run the Super 4 Cycle Class. The Animal karts are still quick, if you have one sitting around, bring it out and have some fun with us!

WMKC is back in action on August 8th. If you cant wait that long to race your kart again, please consider entering East Lansing Kart Track’s biggest race of the year, The Bobby Haun Memorial. The Bobby Haun Memorial is July 26 at ELKT.

Racing this Saturday at East Lansing Kart Track! We hope to see a full grid of karts on Saturday! Our Junior Class has been growing and our Senior Briggs L206 Class seems to be gaining some momentum too! Gates open at 10am, Registration is from 10am to 11am. Mandatory Drivers Meeting at 11:40am and the Racing Starts at 12:00!

Fellow Racers, you might have noticed that our kart counts are down this year. We are averaging 13 karts per race day, last year we averaged 18 karts per race day. I am not sure why our numbers are down so much this year, but unfortunately we are only covering the cost of the ambulance and we don't have any money in our end of year trophy fund. I would like to provide nice end of year awards to our racers, please consider sponsoring one of our 4 Classes. For $100 you can sponsor one of our classes, your company name will be listed on the trophy and your company name will be posted on the page when we post point updates. We will also accept donations at our registration table or message me for a link to our Go Fund Me for 2026 Trophies. Please consider helping the club out, we don't charge annual dues, and our only source of revenue is our race day entry fee. Hopefully next year we will have 20 karts on the ground and we won’t have to worry about the trophies. $500 is our normal annual cost for end of year trophies.

Race #4 Recap: We had a great day of racing this past Saturday at East Lansing Kart Track. The Cadet Class was a thriller, these young drivers are fast. The Junior Race was a good battle all day. The Senior Briggs Class has tightened up and the Super 4 Cycle Class had an absolute Dog Fight between some veteran drivers! Such a great day!

We also had some new drivers and teams joining the fun, thanks for coming out and tag yourself on our race photos below. We look forward to racing with you again real soon!

Thomas Parker gave some pro-level flagman service for us on Saturday, this let me move around a little bit, so I was able to get some photos from different corners. We have some great looking karts out there!

The points are updated below, we have some great battles taking shape!

We are racing again on 7/11/26 for Round #5.

We are racing karts this Saturday, June 27th at East Lansing Kart Track! At last check, the weather is going to be great. Let's have a great race day!

Our Turn 6 corner worker can't be there this weekend, so we are hoping a couple people can step up and volunteer to take turns working that corner for a block of races. Please let me know at the WMKC table if you will be able to help.

Also, guys we were really pokey (the Sportsman Teams) at getting to the grid at our last race. We need to do a better job this race, I am open for suggestions. My favorite suggestion was "First one to the grid is on the Pole, LOL! We aren't doing that......yet.

We had a nice Round #3 this past weekend for the 2026 WMKC Championship! Our kart numbers were improved and the racing action was exciting. It was great seeing some new racers join us for race #3, we hope you had fun and will come back to race with us again! It was also good to see some returning racers from last season, I hope we can finish the season strong.

Sorry for the delay on the Race #2 Recap, but we did have a great day of racing for Race 2! We had first time winners in the Sportsman Class and the Junior Class! The weather and track conditions were perfect.

We are racing this Saturday, 6/13/26 at ELKT! We have 5 races left of our best 5 of 7 race championship, so you still have time to dust off your kart and make a championship run!

It is time for WMKC race number 2 and the weather should be perfect this weekend!

Join us Saturday (5/30/26) at East Lansing Kart Track!

Remember- Gates open at 10:00am. Get your wristbands at the ELKT Concession Building, THEN come to the WMKC Table for Pre-Race Safety Tech and to Register for the day’s races!

Race Registration goes from 10am to 11am at the WMKC Table. If you register after 11am for the races you will be starting the Heat Races at the back of the pack! (We need time to get the starting grid set and late registrations put us behind in our paperwork)

Open Practice starts at 10:00am. Drivers Meeting at 11:40am, Races Start at 12:00 Noon!

We had a great opening race for the 2026 West Michigan Kart Club Season this past weekend. We had a wet track for heat race #1, a drying track for heat race #2 and a perfect track for the Feature Races. Our drivers did great in the challenging conditions!

Congratulations to our Heat Race Winners and Feature Race Winners!

A huge thanks to our volunteers on Saturday: Team Slagter, Team Gabriel, Team Novak and Team DeCoster. We can't race without our volunteers!

East Lansing Kart track is a great place to race, thanks Kevin, Sandy and Will for giving us a great facility.

Our club does still offer the Senior Briggs L206 class, so dust off that Briggs L206 Kart and come join the fun! We race again on Saturday 5/30/26. I hope to see a packed grid of karts!
