On September 30, 2026, Heaven gained a long-awaited citizen the moment Shelby Taylor went home to be with Jesus. Officially, Shelby was the first non-family employee at DRP, but in reality, Shelby was family. Her husband, Charlie, worked for my Dad for years before Shelby came to work with me. Shelby's son, John, would come to work with us later, spending the first 10+ years of his career at DRP.
Shelby spent over 20 years with us taking care of customers, leading our team, along with training new employees. She was the glue that held DRP together. Her fingerprints are still evident everywhere you look.
Shelby was one of the most determined (and stubborn) people I have ever known. She loved Jesus and always gave her best. Shelby put up with me for years before I met Jesus (and many more years after). She patiently planted and watered seeds of the gospel in me before I met Jesus, putting up with a sailor's mouth and worse temper. She would go on to lead some of our first ministry efforts.
God used Shelby to impact me and DRP for eternity. The millions of people DRP has had the privilege to share the gospel with through the years are the fruits of her efforts.
Shelby was faithful. To Jesus, Charlie, John, and DRP. She's at home now celebrating. Shelby, I love you. DRP loves you. And I can't wait to be celebrating with you! -Lynnie D.
