Not only did these R50S carbs need a good cleaning, there were also a few repairs needed to bring them back into service.
We pressed in an M7x0.75 threaded plug to repair the damaged idle jet cap threads. We also employed a fun technique we learned from a well known restorer named Todd Rasmussen to continue using a broken slide top rather than replacing it with one of those universal direction tops available now. We carefully drill a small hole into the top of the carb, add a thin roll pin, locate the position on the slide top, drill it, trim it, and boom...slide top re-used. Note - not for the faint of heart!
Anyway, these carburetors are now up for sale and ready to be put to good use!
