I am So Sick of Auto Insurance Companies Dictating what we can Charge for Labor Rates. Auto Owners for one have us held down to $70. hr for 2 Years now !
They set their Income and Expenses....should be Illegal !

Amazing, Insurance Companies tell us Cost of repairs have gone down for Shops.... Paint and Materials steady incline so Why Huge Policy Increases in last year and a Half but NO INCREASE for Shops since February 2024. No wonder No Young Folks coming into Our Trade. Can you say DICTATORS !

Do you have AAA Auto Insurance?
Our customer has a 2024 GMC They wrote it with pretty Much All Aftermarket Parts. Talk about Drop the Value of your Vehicle. Gone are the Days Insurance has to pay to bring your Vehicle back to Pre-Accident Condition.
1 year ago, Progressive did the same on a NEW Current Year 2024 Toyota Highlander. Oh Your Insurance is cheeper....RITE !! Pathetic Customer Service

Hastings Mutual at this time in the Upper Peninsula is operating like Dictators to the Body Shops but at the same time expect Customers to do the Adjusters job but no pay no Discount for the inconvenience. They give you a list of photos to take and send on Average 15 to 20. Bad Service in my book.

OK, Here are some of my complaints on Insurance Companies. They Dictate to Independent Auto Body Shops. Question, has Your Insurance gone up in the last year and a half even though you have not had any claims? Has your other expenses gone Up like Groceries or Electricity, Property Taxes, the Fact is the Cost of Living has by at least 3.5 percent. I can Honestly tell you our cost of Paint and Related Materials has increased steadily every month. That is an Inarguable Fact.
I recently talked to Auto-Owners Rep. in Escanaba she told me she had talked to the Powers that be in Lansing and they will not negotiate Rates for us. Maybe Ne Year. We have had pretty much the same from all but a few companies and to me that is Price Fixing but because in my humble opinion they Lobby with Politicians. To me, its unacceptable they can Dictate our Rates they will pay also they can make customers accept Aftermarket Parts on a Vehicle as little as 1 year old. This is one reason I don't smile much.
Yes I understand its how the Industry is going but it is wrong.
