From Orono to Michigan International Speedway — Quirk Auto Group is proud to back the University of Maine's Black Bear Racing team at Formula SAE Michigan 2026! 🏁

Formula SAE is one of the premier collegiate engineering competitions in the world. Student teams spend the entire year designing, manufacturing, and testing a formula-style race car — handling everything from aerodynamics and chassis fabrication to suspension tuning and the business case behind the build. Then they bring it all to Michigan to be put through the gauntlet against teams from around the globe.

Day 1 kicked off with technical inspection — a 100+ point evaluation where judges scrutinize every aspect of the car to make sure it meets the strict FSAE rulebook. The team passed through with flying colors, with just a few small fixes before tackling the rest of inspection on Day 2. Today is Day 3, and the Black Bears are pushing forward with the dynamic events on the horizon — acceleration, skid pad, autocross, and the grueling endurance run that puts everything they've built to the ultimate test. Tomorrow wraps it all up on Day 4.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting the graduating automotive class from Eastern Maine Community College Automotive Department for a day fueled by horsepower and heritage!

The journey took us through the heart of Midcoast Maine, stopping at our Belfast and Rockland locations to give these talented students a behind-the-scenes look at the modern automotive industry in action. To top it all off, we took a step back in time with a tour of the incredible Owls Head Transportation Museum.

At Quirk, we believe in supporting the next generation of technicians and innovators. Seeing the passion these students have for the craft makes us even more excited for the future of the industry.

We had an awesome time hosting CTE instructors fresh out of their workshop at EMCC. They took a break from the classroom to go behind the scenes at the Quirk Subaru shop and see the latest in Subaru innovation. It’s always a pleasure to connect with the folks who keep our local automotive scene moving forward! 🛠️

Today, we continued our employee donation efforts with a meaningful contribution to the Jeffrey A. Stanhope Foundation at Quirk Subaru.

We had the opportunity to meet with an incredible group behind the foundation, which was created in memory of Jeff Stanhope, who tragically passed in 2024. His legacy lives on through their mission to help children across Washington County experience the outdoors—something Jeff was truly passionate about.

We’re especially grateful to our Subaru team member, Art Roy, for connecting us with this organization. It’s partnerships like these that make a real difference in our communities! 💙

Today, Quirk Chevrolet of Portland presented an employee-funded donation to The Family Restored , a Portland-founded nonprofit helping individuals and families affected by addiction. Through support groups, education, and recovery scholarships, their reach continues to grow across Maine.

Subaru has officially pulled the curtain back on two highly anticipated additions to the lineup at the New York International Auto Show. 🗽

For those looking toward the future of the brand, here is a first look at what’s coming this fall for the 2027 model year:

⚡️ The All-Electric Getaway: Subaru’s new 3-row EV is designed for families who need space and capability. It features a targeted 300-mile range and, of course, standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive.

🌲 The Forester Wilderness Hybrid: This is the first time we’re seeing the rugged Wilderness trim paired with a hybrid powertrain. You get that signature 9.3 inches of ground clearance and off-road capability, but with a significant boost in fuel efficiency.

Both models represent a major step forward in performance and efficiency. We look forward to sharing more details as they become available.
