🎓 Please join all of us at Tim's Automotive & Towing as we congratulate Tyler Campbell on his recent graduation from Sparrows Point High School and on the completion of the diesel truck and power systems program at Sollers Point Technical High School!

Tyler joined Tim's as a student intern in April 2025, and since graduating, he has transitioned into a full-time role as a General Technician, working alongside one of our Heavy-Duty Technicians.

Since day one, Tyler has been a wonderful addition to our team. He is a hard worker who takes pride in a job well done, he is eager to learn, and embraces every opportunity to grow his skills. His positive attitude and strong work ethic have made a lasting impression on everyone he works with.

We're excited to be part of Tyler's journey and look forward to watching his career continue to grow.

Every day, they help pull people out of tough situations on the road—and at home, they're doing the same for their families. 🎥 What’s that knocking sound behind your dashboard? 🔧 🚘 Our customer came in concerned about a strange knocking noise coming from behind the glove box area of their dashboard. In the first video, you can hear the sound they were experiencing every time the vehicle started. In the second video, we’ve removed the glove box to expose the culprit: a failing blend door actuator. What is a blend or actuator? It’s a small electric motor inside your vehicles HVAC system. Its job is to move internal air doors that blend hot and cold air together to give you the temperature you’ve selected on the dashboard. Common signs of a bad blood door actuator are clicking, tapping, or knocking. Sounds from behind the dashboard. Air that won’t switch from hot to cold or vice versa. Inconsistent cabin temperatures. Climate controls that don’t seem to respond correctly. Overtime, the small plastic gears inside the actuator can wear out or strip, causing the motor to keep trying to move the door, resulting in that annoying knocking sound you hear in the video. Unfortunately, replacing these components, often requires removing interior panels or portions of the dashboard to gain access. If your vehicle is making unusual noises when you start it, don’t ignore them. Small issues can become bigger headaches if left unchecked.
