On Fridays, we hit the rollers! Today our WA 996.2 Carrera hit the dyno fitted w/ a GMPP 525HP LS3 (at the request of our customer) making a commendable 415whp/400tq! Following our post-conversion miles logged, this car will be shipped back to the west coast!

It’s a family affair! Our friend turned customer Rahul S. of IL flew in w/ his daughter this morning to take delivery of our first ever (and his) ‘CPE Touring’! Not only did we fit this car w/ a GMPP 495HP LS3 but also performed an auto->manual conversion and respray in Porsche jet green metallic w/ a ton more!

He’ll be enjoying the next few days visiting nearby family and taking the scenic route home, safe travels and congratulations friend!

* Fun Fact: We couldn’t get our usual engine lid “popped” shot as his trunk switch (Targa specific) failed ironically this morning …

Another auto -> manual conversion in the books! All that’s left are the finishing touches (re-finishing the steering wheel ‘tip +/-‘ buttons and re-facing the ‘temp/fuel’ dial w/ that of a manual variant!

Next week our customer turned friend flys out to pickup his new CPE LS3 997 in which we’ve dubbed our ‘CPE Touring’.

Starting life as an automatic Targa4 we performed our signature engine re-power, completed an auto -> manual conversion, resprayed the vehicle jet green metallic, and fitted such w/ all the aero, suspension, and wheels you see pictured.

There’s something about this one as it simply checks ALL the boxes!

While we’re buttoning up loose ends pre-delivery across multiple cars our body shop is prepping bodies and laying paint on others patiently awaiting their conversion!

Despite being a fairly uncommon color (macadamia metallic) this customer chose to re-finish such in a classic color (carrera white), thoughts?

A year ago i reached out to and asked to purchase a set of his Porsche A/C/Porsche alternator -> LSx adapter brackets as I was confident we could use our existing 996/997->LSx mounting solution to hang the engine w/ ZERO chassis modification

While said brackets did the job they unfortunately worked solely w/ an LS3/7 balancer and sat too low interfering w/ our front sump oil pan offering SO leaned on our friend to create such a/ the following in mind …

1.) Hang said accessories higher up/further forward (to front of car)

2.) Work w/ an LS4 balancer and retain a factory GM automatic tensioner

Today, I’m pleased to showcase the results! The only downside to this (if you want to call it that) are as follows …

1.) Axle angles go from 4.5d to 6d (non-concerning if i’m being honest)

2.) Requires an electric water pump (mounted to cross brace under trans) and ‘CPE Billet Water Manifold’ (incoming product alert)

3.) Modification and/or removal of the shifter counter weight (not a bad compromise versus chassis modification)

… and the best part? This position can be obtained w/ our current offering less the accessory adapter brackets! We’re constantly re-inventing the wheel however believe this wheel is officially done!

This morning we turned loose our personal/shop car, ‘CPERS’ 002. FL suits this color a little better than MD!

We’ve been performing LSx engine conversions across the 996/997 platform since ‘18 w/ 100% factory functionality. CPE has come to be the “gold standard” in said space as we’re constantly revisiting the drawing board for our customers and while it’s been fun (and will@continue to offer such for many years to come) we’ve secretly been at work transplanting a 3.4 991 MA1 engine into a personal 997.1 of mine again, retaining, 100% factory functionality w/ the canbus information we’ve obtained through our extensive LSx conversion RnD many years ago along with few different stand alone options that offer DFI support.

As an added bonus, while we have an adapter/flywheel to mate the ma1 to your g96/7.01 trans we inherently have the option of moving to a 997.2 6spd or 991 7spd during the conversion thanks to the shared bell house pattern.

With that said, come 2027 we’ll be offering such to those on the receiving end of a bad M96/7 that wish to lose the IMS bearing in its entirety and keep it “Porsche”! At this time i’d also like to announce our partnership w/ who has done wonders w/ the M96/7 platform and will be handling all MA1 refreshes/rebuilds (if desired) before installation!
