Wow what a crazy couple weeks.

Yesterday turned into a large scale event and our community and surrounding areas came together and worked to stop a raging wildfire.

We assisted Squires Volunteer Fire Department on a rekindle of the large fire on N Hwy. We had every truck down there and in the fight.

While being out of our district, several depts covered our district for us. Mansfield, Missouri Fire Department, and Goodhope Fire Dept thanks for covering our area.

Along with the local departments, Missouri Department of Conservation, and US Forestry were vital in fire attack with dozers and hand crews. It is a relief when the dozers show up to start putting in lines!

Then, there were departments from all over SW Missouri here to help. The statewide mutual aide was called for and the help came. The list of departments that was there: Mansfield, Hartville, Mtn Grove, Brixey-Rockbridge, Central Taney, Central Crossing, Billings, Southern Webster, Logan-Rogersville, Ozark, Sparta, Battlefield, Ebenezer, Strafford, Clever, Fair Grove, Western Taney, Branson, Pierce City, Southern Stone, Aurora, and probably several others came and assisted. These departments were out all night working fire line, cutting burning snags and timber, and controlling hot spots. This allowed the local departments to get some rest.

Crews will be out again today monitoring the fire and working to reinforce hand lines and work on burning snags and hot spots.

The help from the community was great as well. The food and drinks were plenteous!

Shout out to J & L Tire for coming and putting a tire on our Tanker 1 after it blew shuttling water.
