Value Mart Tires , aggressive, Salesman, aggressive, scammers
We have seen an increase in gift card and cryptocurrency scams in our area that have cost victims in our community hundreds of thousands of dollars. Our goal is to put an end to these scams by educating our residents and preventing future incidents like these.
Typically, these scammers call victims pretending to be from their bank, the IRS, or a law enforcement agency and create a sense of panic, urgently demanding money in the form of gift cards or cryptocurrency to avoid threats such as warrant arrests, legal action, or account suspension.
Additionally, there are a few other types of scams that are starting to circulate:
* Scammers attempt to purchase items through social media and then require the seller (victim) to create fake business accounts on payment apps.
* Scammers impersonate financial institutions and request that debit cards or cash be picked up in person by a "representative" from a designated location.
