Who Are You Really Trusting With Your Vehicle?

Not every repair shop is what it appears to be.

Across the country, large corporations have been quietly buying local repair shops and keeping the original names, signs, and branding in place. To the customer, it still looks like the same hometown business. Behind the scenes, however, decisions are often being made by corporate offices hundreds or even thousands of miles away.

At Chase Automotive, we're still exactly what we've always been: a locally owned, family-operated repair shop serving our neighbors right here in Aurora.

When you choose a family-owned shop, you're supporting:

✅ Local jobs and local families
✅ Owners who are accountable to their community
✅ Technicians who build long-term relationships with customers
✅ Personalized service instead of corporate quotas
✅ Decisions made in Aurora—not a boardroom

One of the biggest differences? Reputation matters.

If we don't take care of our customers, we see the consequences firsthand. You'll see us at the grocery store, at local events, and around town. We have to earn your trust every day.

Corporate-owned chains often answer to shareholders and growth targets. Family-owned businesses answer to their customers.

We're proud to be independent, proud to be local, and proud to continue serving Aurora the way we believe automotive repair should be done—with honesty, transparency, and accountability.

Thank you for supporting local businesses.

🐾 Monday's Mutt: Fergus 🐾

Meet Fergus, Chase Automotive's part-time ambassador and full-time best boy.

When he's not busy supervising the household, Fergus can usually be found accepting belly rubs, collecting snacks, and reminding everyone that every day is a good day to be a good dog.

His qualifications include:
✔ Professional treat inspector
✔ Expert b***y shaker
✔ Customer morale specialist
✔ Certified best boy

Fergus may not know how to diagnose a check engine light, but he knows exactly where the treats are and isn't afraid to remind you.

As a tail-challenged gentleman, Fergus expresses his excitement the old-fashioned way: with a full-body wiggle and an award-winning b***y shake.

Give Fergus a ❤️ in the comments if you think he's earned Employee of the Month.

Some vehicles are more than transportation—they're history.
Isabel is hard at work preparing the engine block on this classic 1970s Datsun Z for reassembly. Proper cleaning and preparation are critical to ensuring a quality repair and long-term reliability.
At Chase Automotive Repair, we believe craftsmanship matters. Whether we're working on a vintage sports car, a diesel truck, or your daily driver, our goal is always the same: do the job right the first time.

🐾 Monday's Mutt: Nanook! 🐾

Meet Nanook, Arthur's four-legged alarm clock and all-around good boy. This handsome husky takes his job very seriously, making sure his dad gets to work on time every morning.

When he's not supervising the household, you'll usually find him cheering on the Colorado Avalanche and living his best life. 🏒🐺

We'd say he's employee of the month material, but he spends most of his shift napping on the couch.

Give Nanook some love in the comments! ❤️🐾

🚨 JEEP SAGA UPDATE: We Found the Smoking Gun 🚨

You may remember the Jeep that attempted to gas out our technician Juan when the heater core catastrophically failed while idling in the shop.

Now that we've completed disassembly, we've uncovered exactly what happened—and the photos tell the story.

The replacement engine previously installed in this Jeep suffered a head gasket failure. During teardown, we found the head gasket's locating rivets were improperly positioned, preventing the gasket from sealing correctly. Combined with improperly torqued head bolts, combustion pressure was able to enter the cooling system.

The result? An immense amount of pressure built up in the cooling system over time. Eventually, the heater core became the weakest link and literally ruptured, sending vaporized coolant throughout the vehicle's cabin.

Rather than simply replacing failed components and hoping for the best, we're correcting the root cause. During reassembly, we've chosen to install a bonded head gasket designed to provide superior sealing and long-term reliability compared to the failed gasket that came out of the engine.

This repair serves as a reminder that proper assembly procedures matter. Even a relatively small mistake during an engine installation can lead to major failures and costly repairs later on.

Check out the photos below to see the misplaced rivets on the failed head gasket and the damage caused to the heater core by excessive cooling system pressure.

A huge shout-out to Juan for his thorough diagnostic work and commitment to finding the actual cause of the problem—not just the symptoms.

🔧 If you're experiencing coolant loss, overheating, unexplained pressure in your cooling system, or suspect a head gasket issue, give Chase Automotive Repair a call. Proper diagnostics can save thousands in unnecessary repairs.
