MISSING ENDANGERED PERSON - PLEASE SHARE: Aurora Police continue to search for 47-year-old Alan Gustaitis, who may be experiencing a medical episode that requires immediate hospitalization. He was last seen on Wednesday 12/2 at approximately 11:45 a.m. in the 2400 block of Forestview Drive on the city's far east side.
Alan was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black t-shirt, and a gray quarter-zip sweater. If you see Alan, do not approach him and call 9-1-1 immediately.
On Thursday afternoon, information was received that Alan could potentially be in the Oakhurst Forest Preserve and a search and rescue operation was requested.
At approximately 5:30 p.m., search operations concluded at the Oakhurst Forest Preserve after an extensive search by air and by ground. Unfortunately, 47-year-old Alan Gustaitis was not located.
The Aurora Police Department was assisted by the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, the Kane County Forest Preserve Police, Illinois State Police, numerous other surrounding law enforcement agencies, the Aurora Emergency Management Agency, and approximately 150 community members who helped search the forest preserve.
The Aurora Police Department would like to thank our law enforcement partners and the community members for their assistance in the search this afternoon.
APD's Investigations Division continues to follow-up on potential leads and the investigation remains on-going.
