We work on them all, got the Model T up and going after sitting for a number of years. These old cars are pretty cool and somewhat complex for their time! On to the next one!

I have not worked on diesels a whole lot but definitely not afraid to do so. Had this 04 F350 super duty with 6.0 that would crank and not start, or not start til cranked for a long time. Diagnosed it as the high pressure oil pump. Replaced that and after driving it noticed a decent oil leak. That was the oil filter adapter cover gasket. So had to pull apart again removing the intake and turbo, to get to it. Went ahead and replaced the oil cooler cover gaskets as well since I was there. New belt, air filters, etc. cause they were not much good. Now it is good to go. Definitely, leaned a few things!

Replace a CVT transmission in an infinity. Transmission replacement, usually is more work than people think. Especially ones like this one. The engine has to be supported from up above while the subframe is removed in order to then remove the transmission. The rear exhaust manifold has got to be removed in order to remove the transfer case, for this one is all-wheel-drive. So next time a job cost more than you think. It should be sure to know how much work is actually having to be done.
Also, to be clear, the customer did not squabble on the price at all whatsoever. Just trying to help others understand.

Customer inquired about about fixing the wipers on their truck a couple weeks ago, I didn’t get them responded to very quickly, which I apologized for. They took it to another shop and had it ā€œfixedā€. Which I have absolutely no issue with. Well now I am getting to work on it. I don’t like to talk down on others or other businesses. I’ll try and show before and after photos. They didn’t want to fix the entire thing and half way completed the part they attempted. I hate half assing something. If you are going to do something, do it right and do it all the way. I am not a fan of butt connectors, at least they used the water tight, shrinkable kind, but didn’t heat them up to seal them off. I prefer to solder and then shrink wrap them.
Point of the story, is: I am one man, I wear a lot of hats, I do not intentionally not respond or take days to respond but it happens. If you want it done correctly, sometimes you must be patient. I have had multiple customers have this sort of issue, in the last couple years. I am trying to get to everyone, so don’t give up on me!

Who ever designed this engine with no key/keyway in the crank, is a damn fool. The crankshaft pulley spins freely is gets held in place from friction from the dampener or harmonic balancer. šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø Anyway, felt better after ordering the tool to mark and hold the crank and cam shafts. I don’t understand their logic.
Also I can’t load video and pics so video is in the comments.

If you Hyundai or Kia, is making a clunking sound from the steering, this little rubber piece is the culprit. It goes between the power steering motor and the column. Kind of dumb to make it out of soft rubber, in my opinion.

This is what i have been working on. Before, after, and some in the process between. It is done. Repair from hitting a deer and complete paint! Old paint was peeling in multiple places. Definitely, a lot of work, but that’s what it takes to look this good!
