This one came into the shop for a full interior refresh, custom boot covers, and a new vinyl top and she’s officially DONE!

Everything came together great and this Jeep left the shop looking sharp and ready for the road! 🙌

HAPPY FRIDAY! Today we’re throwing it way back to 1922 to a true piece of American History!

Meet Oscar….the famous eight foot tall “Walking Man” of the 1922 Pioneer Circus Wagon!

At first glance, it looks like Oscar is actually walking down the street while pulling a circus wagon. In reality this machine is powered by an early automobile chassis and a complex system of gears and linkages that makes Oscar’s legs move as the wagon travels….EVEN HIS HEAD! Cool huh?

The concept dates back to a 1910 patent by Louis Philip Perew and Joseph A. Dischinger and the completed wagon was originally used as a rolling advertisement before eventually becoming part of the traveling carnival world.

Over 100 years later…..Oscar is still turning heads!

And we’re proud to have played a small part in keeping this piece of history looking its best. Interiors by Thomas had the privilege of upholstering Oscar’s clothing back in 2020, because how often do you get to say you helped dress an eight-foot-tall mechanical man from 1922? 😎

Before there was a shop, before there was a sign, before there was a name people knew….Tom Davis! The one with a vision, the dreams and the one who put in a whole lot of hard work out of his third bay garage.

In 2007 Tom started building this business from the ground up by hand and with the help of a few good friends who believed in what he was building.

What started as a dream slowly became walls, a shop, a place to work, a place people come to enjoy their morning coffee and talk about what project is coming in next.

Over the years the building has changed. The tools have changed. The projects have changed.
But the reason behind it all hasn’t.

Tom built Interiors by Thomas one piece at a time and he still builds today. The dreams never stop.

From the very first frame to the shop it is now… this is the evolution of Interiors by Thomas.

Built by hand. Built with hard work. Built to last.

Custom interior work is TIME CONSUMING but the finished product makes every minute worth it!

This bench seat was completely transformed with a custom leather like vinyl finish while the frame was powder coated for a clean, durable finish underneath.
