Good evening everyone.
I’ve wrote this post a few different times. We have came to the decision the track is going to close.
We have considered many things while making this decision and while we have our small group of supporters who we forever are greatful for.
The initial cost of karting is expensive we all know that, as is running a track.
Calls are never going to be perfect no matter where you race, or who is officiating them. I’ve struggled in the years to have a solid crew, people are quick to jump, run and call us out for this but they are not quick to jump in and help when they see we’re short handed. (For many you’ll say well it isn’t our problem).
We have loved doing what we do and we thought we were always doing the right thing with trying to add bonus money here and there; and a few small money nights. (Meaning over 80% payback)
We can not compete with the backyard tracks and offer free racing and we can not compete with the money shows weekly either. We are just the middle guy. (Not saying anything negative towards either of the events).
We simply were just trying to give everyone a place to run locally every other weekend, give you the best racing surface we could, and see people making memories and collecting their first wins or first laps on a track.
This decision did not come lightly by no means and it definitely hurts that we are having to say goodbye to something we truly love doing. I’ve watched my kids grow up at martinville and majority of my memories from any track are there back in the woods.
