On April 14, 1964, Canadian pilot Stanley Tucker bought a white Mustang convertible in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

One problem: it was Mustang Serial Number One, a pre-production display car that wasn’t supposed to be sold.

Ford asked for it back. Tucker kept driving—about 10,000 miles over the next two years.

In 1966, he finally agreed to trade it for the one-millionth Mustang, equipped to his specifications.

Would you have made that trade—or kept Number One?
