Important Update – Athens Location
At approximately 8:00 PM last night, a fire occurred in the shop area at our Athens Fat Boy’s Golf Carts location. Thankfully, the fire happened after business hours and no one was injured.
The shop area sustained significant damage, and the Athens store will be temporarily closed through the required inspection process.
While we know there will be repairs required before we can fully reopen normally, our team is already working on a plan to get back up and running in some capacity as quickly as possible.
In the meantime, all service and repair work will be temporarily moved to our Covington location. We intend to continue repairs and scheduled service work as planned and will contact customers directly if any changes become necessary.
We also want to reassure our customers that customer-owned golf carts were not located in the area where the fire occurred. At this time, we are still assessing the full extent of the damage and any potential effects from smoke or water. If we identify any concerns involving a customer-owned cart, we will contact those customers directly.
Customers can still call the Athens store for updates, as our phone system has been forwarded to a cell phone, and we will continue assisting customers as best we can during this time.
We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to the individual who noticed the smoke and called 911 so quickly, as well as the firefighters and first responders who responded immediately. Their efforts were nothing short of incredible and, quite honestly, saved the building from what could have been a much more devastating loss.
We appreciate everyone’s patience, understanding, and support as we work through this unexpected situation. We are incredibly grateful that everyone is safe and look forward to serving our customers again as soon as possible.
Thank you for your continued support!
