I’ve accidentally purchased a quantity of Subaru CVT-II fluid. The newer models need CVT-III. Anyone with a Subaru with a CVT need a discounted fluid service? 🤣🤠

Please for the love of goodness do not listen to oil change techs when they tell you things about your car. These bottom barrel workers at these l**e places… The likelihood of them giving you goofy, useless information posturing for their own ego is like 9 out of 10.

There’s a reason they are changing oil all day.

Today I had a woman have to pay me $70 minimum assessment fee because a l**e tech told her she had a bad head gasket because her coolant was discolored. Her coolant wasn’t even discolored. They don’t even do that repair so I have no idea why they would argue this with her. He frightened her and caused her an additional assessment fee.

Do not have people who get paid minimum wage diagnose your car. Period.

Cash for clunkers was the worst program.

In 2008 a 1998 Ford Explorer could drive into a dealership, 100k miles. The owner could sell the vehicle to the dealer for a government rebate of $4500 towards a new car. The dealer would then pour sodium silicate into the engine to destroy it per government regulations and requirements and scrap it.

To this day in 2026, a 1998 Ford explorer with 100k miles is a valuable vehicle for any lower income person to get to work.

700,000 vehicles were destroyed via this method and removed from the market, along with their cheap used engines. Under the delusion of being for the environment.

The production of new cars completely offset any environmental benefits. Absolute and total failure of a program that hurt lower income car owners for optics, literally no net benefits whatsoever. In fact economist argue the impact on the environment was considerably worse then doing nothing at all.

Subaru CVTs! Subaru owners listen!

If you want your Subaru transmission to last 250k… or very often even 120-150k you must service its CVT fluid and you must use the Subaru OEM CVT II fluid. No if and or butts!

Every 20-30k religiously the drain and fill procedure must be done - ignore any higher intervals recommended by Subaru or anyone else. That fluid must be kept pristine.

All the following vehicles have the Subaru Lineartronic CVT :

Legacy (2010–present), Outback (2010–present), Impreza (2012–present), Crosstrek (2013–present), Forester (2014–present), WRX CVT models (2015–present), and Ascent (2019–present).

I see these failed ALL THE TIME. Protect your investment!

We are so close to getting rid of emissions inspections in this county (Buncombe/Asheville)! They have closed comments and are moving towards final approval! Yes!

This is an absolute and total win for both the environment and low income individuals. Anyone who is against this is lobbying for their own profit, not the environment.

100% way more environmental (carbon footprint) impact occurs from these requirements existing. Not kidding, the effort people go to and miles they drive for this is crazy. Poor people all the time lose their main transportation and are ticketed and fined for having cars that don’t even pollute.

Literally NO ONE removes catalytic converters intentionally from their cars, and the converters last often upwards of 300k miles. But computers failures from imperfect systems plagued everyone.

Catalytic converters are great but Emissions testing can suck it!
