🏁 TEXAS STAMPEDE OF SPEED RECAP
🏁 THE DIVISIONAL
Our performance at the divisional wasn’t exactly something to write home about. We could barely get the car to run 10 under the index, and we knew we had some work to do.
🏁 THE NATIONAL — FINALLY MAKING PROGRESS!
We started to feel like we were finally making some headway!
Going into Q3, Boss Man (Clint) and I were lined up against each other on the ladder. Unfortunately, Clint had hurt the spool in the rear end only a few pairs ahead of me!
Knowing that, I figured I better try to make a move on the qualifying ladder so we wouldn’t end up racing each other first round.
Well… I made a move, just not quite enough of one! 😂 I ended up getting bumped right back down, and sure enough, Boss Man and I were paired up for round one!
We got the AED put back together and woke up to one of the most ridiculous weather changes I’ve experienced. In less than eight hours, we went from hot and sweaty to FREEZING with crazy wind! 🥶🌬️
We made some clutch changes and a few more tweaks, and for the first time all week, the car responded REALLY positively!
Well, between the changes we made to the car and the quicker 60-foot, I ended up turning on that dreaded red bulb But maybe that red light was a blessing in disguise because we ended up hurting another rocker arm.
Unfortunately, Clint hurt the rear end again on the next run, bringing an end to their eventful week as well.
SO, WHAT DID WE TAKE AWAY FROM TEXAS?
We also have to be thankful that we arrived in Texas with a car that was only 10 under the index and are leaving with a car that is easily 45 under! That’s a huge step in the right direction, even though we still have plenty of improvements to make.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped us throughout the week. Whether it was lending a hand, offering advice, helping troubleshoot, or simply stopping by to check on us, it means more than you know Isaac and Eli for all the help it won’t let me tag you guys
I may have driven that truck to Texas by myself, but I certainly wasn’t doing this week alone. ❤️
