For those who need to hear this:
🔴 Red traffic light = STOP
🚌 School bus with red lights flashing = STOP
🚧 Flagger holding a STOP sign = STOP
🚂 Railroad gate down = STOP

For everyone who already stops, thank you. This cat isn’t judging you. 😾

For everyone else, you saw the light, the sign or the gate. You know what STOP means. Actually do it.

Flaggers protect workers and motorists. Obey the flagger, slow down and pay attention in work zones.

Don’t make the cat explain this again.

If your vehicle inspection is expired, putting a fake sticker on your windshield is not legal. Nice try, but we check.

The inspection sticker on the left is fake, the one on the right is real.

On August 6, a Trooper from SP Homer was conducting traffic enforcement on I-81 and confiscated the fake inspection sticker on the left from a 2013 Subaru Legacy.

A quick check of DMV records showed that the Subaru’s inspection actually expired in 2024. The operator’s driver’s license was also revoked. He was ticketed with the misdemeanors of Forged Inspection Certificate and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 2nd degree and the vehicle was impounded.

Whether you’re behind the wheel or on foot, safety is a SHARED responsibility:

🚶 Pedestrians: Wear reflective gear and stay visible.

⚠️ You wouldn’t run a red light - don’t ignore a flagger.

We continue to hear about motorists harassing, ignoring, or even striking flaggers in work zones. These are real people doing their jobs to keep traffic moving safely. When you ignore their directions, you’re putting our crews’ lives in danger.

Please take this seriously.
