A small wiring repair saved this customer a major repair bill. 🔎🔧
After experiencing harsh, erratic shifting, the customer had his weak battery replaced, thinking it might be affecting the computer. When the problem continued, another shop told him the torque converter was bad.
Our inspection found the transmission wiring harness resting on the exhaust manifold behind the engine. Heat had burned through a wire’s insulation, leaving exposed copper touching the manifold and triggering a transmission code.
We repaired the damaged wire and got the customer back on the road for far less than the transmission or torque converter replacement that had been suggested.
Honest diagnosis means taking the time to find the cause—and recommending the repair your vehicle actually needs.
