What actually goes into a premium motorcycle helmet before it ever reaches our shelf?

SHOEI gives us a look inside its manufacturing facilities in Japan, and the answer is: a lot more hands-on work than most riders probably realize.

From forming the shell and precision cutting to painting, graphics and final assembly, skilled craftspeople stay involved throughout the process. Development goes beyond manufacturing too, with impact testing, environmental evaluation and full-scale wind-tunnel testing used to evaluate performance.

One detail that stood out to us: SHOEI says building a premium helmet can involve 26 production steps, 65 workers, 11 inspections and five layers of paint.

Three wheels change the riding experience in a very practical way. 😉👍

Can-Am’s Y-architecture puts two wheels up front and one in the rear, giving riders a planted feel at stops and added stability through turns without giving up the open-air experience that makes riding fun.

Some customer relationships last longer than the machines. ❤️

Steve has been doing business with Arlington Motorsports for 30 years.

At that point, “repeat customer” doesn’t really cover it. As Robert put it, Steve might as well be family, more like a brother than a customer.

And after all those years and who knows how many visits through our doors, there was still another ride waiting for him.

This time, Steve headed home with a new-to-him Sea-Doo RXP with 300 HP and another chapter to add to a relationship we’re incredibly grateful has lasted three decades.

Robert came back from the BRP dealer show with a camera roll that basically said, “Y’all are going to want to see this.” 👀

So, we’re starting with the dirt.
