Oh boy, with all the undercoating shops popping up its hard to figure out what is the best product, who applies it the best etc. Our advice is to go with a shop that's been around for a while. Knowing the problem areas of different makes of vehicles makes a big difference. Secondly the attention to details is critical. Knocking vehicles out like you're on a production line will give you dismal results. We've been undercoating vehicles since 1973. We take the time to do it right and most importantly do each car with the mindset that it's our own.

I know it’s hard to believe but there are cars out there like this. Hopefully not this bad but this is why state inspections should be required every 3 years.

Never buy a recently undercoated vehicle without having it inspected for rust damage. More and more people are selling rotted out vehicles by shooting them with an undercoating to hide what's underneath. If the seller won't allow an inspection walk away. Also, there are a number of undercoat shops out there that will undercoat anything to make a buck. Stick with people that know what they are doing. We have 50 years' experience doing this stuff.

Good morning folks, whenever I see someone posting inaccurate information about rustproofing, I need to speak up. Over the last few years there's been an explosion of people getting into the "undercoating business. Most do a great job, some not so much. Anyone that tells you how long a rustproofing will last doesn't know the business. Everyone uses their vehicle differently so the timing or a reapplication will vary. In most cases a 12 to 18 month schedule will work but if you put a lot of miles on during inclement weather 12 months is most likely. What's more important than that? The timing of the application is important. While applying any undercoating will be better than nothing having it done in the winter months is not as beneficial as having it done during the warmer months. Temperatures play a role in the formation of rust. Parking your car inside of a heated garage during the winter will increase corrosion, vehicles left outside will freeze the moisture stopping the corrosion. Having said that most of the deicing agents used today lower that temperature greatly in some cases down to nearly 0 degrees. Are you totally confused yet? The best thing to do to protect your vehicle is to talk to a knowledgeable applicator, discuss your driving habits and they will be able to advise you of the best way to proceed.
