STORY TIME 📣 This customer made an appointment for brakes and a day before the appointment called with an additional brake concern . Said I have a part that fell off my car and now the brake pedal is soft and fluids seen under the car 😳.
We advised to tow the car in for safety precaution asap… customer arrived driving the car the morning of the appointment 🤦♂️.
Visual inspection confirmed what we knew had happened once we saw what part “fell off “ the car.
The brake pad was worn so low that it had ZERO pad material remaining and not enough to hold itself into the brake caliper and got kicked from the brake caliper (your brake pad has left the chat) . So instead of a few hundred dollar brake job it’s doubled into a much larger repair including new brake calipers, lines and fluid flush in hopes it didn’t damage other brake parts like master cylinder, brake booster or ABS components.
- Moral of the story is don’t wait until the last minute to get work done. Not only can it save you money but this was an immediate safety concern from the beginning. Not only did they risk their own life driving it, but also everyone else’s on the road coming here.
