Decided to take the Bronco out to get on the dyno as well to see what it has at the rear wheels. Right after I had the engine built and did a dyno run, it put out 430 horsepower and 530 torque at the crank. And today at the rear wheels it put down 312 horsepower and 361 torque. Who knew that 42’’ tires could go 125mph as you can see in the video with the steering wheel vibration!! I was very impressed considering the size of the tires and drivetrain loss of power! Not too bad for a big old rig!!

My friend and owner of Moonlite Diesel Performance in Lakeville was doing a dyno event today at a local bar so I decided to take the Dually there and finally find out how much horsepower and torque it has with all the upgrades done. I was actually surprised that it put down 783 horsepower and 1611 ft torque at the rear tires!! And with that being said there is normally around a 20% loss of power thru the drivetrain to the tires so that means at the crank of the engine it’s pushing 940 horsepower out of a 6 cylinder diesel! It’s pretty crazy and he thinks the way it pulled when he drove it and still had more power but stock connecting rods don’t like much over that!

Took the ‘79 up in the Smokey Mountains today for a nice cruise. Tomorrow and Saturday we’ll be at the Smokey Mountain Bronco Stampede.
