It's Senior Fraud Awareness Day, Roadhaven, and a reminder that scams can happen to anyone, and being prepared to respond in a pressured situation is one of the best protections.

Here are 3 tips to prevent fraud: 🔒

• Be cautious of anyone asking for payment by gift card, wire transfer, or cryptocurrency. Never give personal or banking information to unsolicited callers, texts, or emails, even if they claim to be from a trusted company or government agency.

• When in doubt, verify independently. Scammers can "spoof" a real phone number to look legitimate on Caller ID, so hang up and contact the business, bank, or family member directly using a trusted phone number.

• Don’t click suspicious links or open unexpected attachments.

Knowledge is protection. Stay informed, stay cautious, and help spread awareness in our Roadhaven community. 💛

Heads up, Roadhaven! 🚮

It's almost "Free Dump Week" again, this time from May 4-9. All residents of Apache Junction can enjoy a one-time free drop-off of their load of trash at the landfill in partnership with Republic Services. 🌳🌞

To participate, all you need is to bring your proof of residency (like a water bill) and a maximum of one pickup truck bed size of trash per household. Please note that safety is our top priority, and all visitors are required to wear hard hats and vests while at the landfill. You can wear your own or purchase a set for $15 on-site. 🚧👷‍♂️

The landfill is open from Monday-Saturday, 6 am to 4 pm at 4050 S Tomahawk Rd, Apache Junction, AZ 85119. Don't miss this opportunity to clean up your space and contribute to the preservation of our environment. For more information, please call (602) 237-2078. 📞💻
