Quick Arizona driving quiz.

What does a diamond-shaped road sign mean?

These signs are warning signs. They let drivers know something is changing up ahead, like a curve, lane shift, pedestrian crossing, or road hazard.

Arizona roads can change fast, especially outside town.

Would you have guessed this one right?

Ever wondered why your steering wheel is on the left side?

It actually goes back to horse-drawn carriage days.

Drivers would sit on the left side to keep their right hand free.

That setup carried over when cars were introduced, and it stuck.

Electric vehicles are becoming a bigger part of everyday life across Arizona.

It is not just about seeing more Teslas at stoplights. As more drivers switch to EVs, Arizona is also seeing more focus on charging access, highway infrastructure, and long-term transportation planning. ADOT’s current EV program and charging plans show the state is actively building out that network, not just talking about it.

That means the way people travel across Arizona is changing in real time. From daily commutes in the East Valley to longer highway trips across the state, EV growth is shaping what drivers will expect from Arizona roads in the years ahead. Public charging data also shows Arizona already has a substantial charging footprint, and that network keeps growing.

Whether you drive gas, hybrid, or electric, one thing is clear. Arizona roads are not standing still.

Arizona driving myth time.

Is it illegal to drive barefoot in Arizona?

Nope. It is completely legal. Arizona law does not ban barefoot driving, though safe vehicle operation still matters under Arizona traffic rules.

So if you have ever kicked off your shoes in the car and wondered if you were suddenly a criminal, good news. You are not.

Legal? Yes.

Always smart? That depends on the situation.

One of the most common questions we hear is whether you always need the original title to transfer a vehicle.

The answer is not always.

If a title is lost or missing, there are still ways to establish ownership, including the bonded title process.

If you are in Apache Junction or the East Valley and unsure what you need, we can walk you through it before you waste a trip.

Not all permits are the same, and using the wrong one can create a lot of confusion.

In Arizona, a Restricted Use 3-Day Permit is a short-term permit to operate an unregistered vehicle for specific needs like emissions testing, inspection, repairs, or completing the registration process. It is often used after a private sale.

A 30-Day General Use Permit is different. It is used when a vehicle does not qualify for permanent registration or other temporary permits.

If you are in Apache Junction or the East Valley and not sure which permit fits your situation, MVS Tags and Title can help you figure it out before you make the trip.

Taking a road test in Arizona soon?

A lot of people think the test starts when the vehicle begins moving. That is not usually how it feels in real life.

Your road test starts the moment you get in the car. The examiner is already paying attention to how you prepare, how aware you are, and how well you stay in control before you even pull out.

Things like seat adjustment, mirror setup, hand placement, and overall readiness all matter. If you are scheduling a road test in Apache Junction or looking for Arizona road test tips, this is one of the easiest ways to start stronger.

Ever drift a little too close to the edge of the road and hear that loud vibration?

Those are called rumble strips.

They are designed to alert drivers when they start drifting out of their lane, especially on long desert highways where fatigue can set in.

It is a small detail, but it plays a big role in preventing accidents across Arizona roads.

Have you ever had rumble strips wake you up while driving?

Flying soon?

Before you head to the airport, take a quick look at your license.

For domestic flights, a standard Arizona license is no longer enough. You need an Arizona Travel ID, a passport, or another TSA-approved ID. If you show up without one, TSA now has a $45 ConfirmID backup option, but they still have to verify your identity. That means paying the fee does not promise you will get through security.

The easy thing to remember is this:
Look for the circle with a star on your Arizona Travel ID.

If you are planning a trip soon and still need your Travel ID, it is smart to handle it before airport day. ADOT says to apply at least two weeks before your trip to allow time for shipping.
