Need something notarized?

You do not have to drive around looking for a bank. We have notary services right at the counter in Apache Junction.

Bring:

Your document
A valid photo ID
Any required signers

If you are not sure whether to sign ahead of time, leave the signature line blank. Some documents need to be signed in front of the notary.

Already stopping in for a title transfer, registration renewal, or permit? You may be able to handle the notarization during the same visit.

One less errand sounds pretty good.

Arizona roads run on a lot more than asphalt.

ADOT lists 233,866 traffic signs statewide, 4,883 bridges, and roughly 9,553 center lane miles of state highway.

Every sign gets installed, tracked, inspected, and eventually repaired or replaced. Every bridge and highway mile takes the same kind of ongoing work.

It is easy to forget how much infrastructure sits behind a normal drive across the East Valley.

How close would you have guessed on the number of traffic signs?

We do not post many of these, but this one made the whole team smile.

Reviews like this are the reason we keep the walk-in door open and keep the wait short. Thank you for taking the time to write it, and thank you to everyone in Apache Junction, Gold Canyon, East Mesa and San Tan Valley who trusts us with the paperwork nobody enjoys.

If we helped you out recently, we would love to hear about it.

Did you know that third brake light has a real name?

It is called a Center High-Mounted Stop Lamp, or CHMSL.

Early fleet testing in the late 1970s found roughly 35% fewer rear-impact crashes on vehicles equipped with one.

That research helped lead to the third brake light becoming required on all new U.S. passenger cars starting with the 1986 model year.

One little light with a pretty useful job.

Here is one Arizona thing that is easy to take for granted until you drive somewhere else.

We have zero toll roads. Not a single toll bridge, toll tunnel or toll lane anywhere in the state. Every interstate, every state route, every Valley loop, all free. And in 2023 the state went a step further and signed a law blocking taxpayer funded roads from being converted into toll roads. Which brings up the useful part.

If you got a text saying you owe Arizona an unpaid toll, that is a scam, and the state transportation department has warned about it repeatedly.

There is nothing to pay because there is nothing to toll. Delete it, do not tap the link, and go enjoy a free freeway. Aren't you glad you live here?

A vehicle can change hands even when nobody bought or sold it.

If a car was gifted to you, the title still needs to be transferred into your name.

If the owner passed away, Arizona may allow the vehicle to transfer through a named beneficiary or, in some cases, a Non-Probate Affidavit after the required waiting period.

The paperwork depends on the situation, so you do not have to figure it all out before you walk in.

Bring what you have to MVS Tags and Title in Apache Junction, and we can help you figure out what comes next.

Here is a driving rule that always gets a reaction.

In New Jersey, you still cannot pump your own gasoline at a regular gas station. An attendant has to do it for you.

The state's ban on self-service gasoline dates back to 1949, with safety concerns playing a major role in the law.

Oregon had its own self-service restrictions beginning in 1951, but changed its law in 2023.

That left New Jersey as the only state with a full statewide ban on self-service gasoline.

Meanwhile in Apache Junction, we are out there pumping our own gas when the handle feels approximately 400 degrees.

What is the strangest driving or vehicle rule you have encountered on a road trip?

Somebody leaves a vehicle on your property. They stop answering. Now it is your problem.

Arizona has a path for it.

The car has to sit more than 10 days first. Call us for the inspection, Then you file an Abandoned Vehicle Application with the abandoned vehicle unit.

The state takes it from there. The Abandoned Vehicle unit notifies the registered owner and any lienholder, and they get 30 days to claim it. If nobody comes forward, ownership can transfer to you with a clean title.

Here is where people lose weeks.

If the Abandoned Vehicle Unit gets the application and something is missing, it comes back. The 30 days never started. You do it again.

We are an authorized third party office in Apache Junction that can help with this.

We check the paperwork before it goes out, handle the inspection side, and tell you upfront whether your situation qualifies. Some do not, including vehicles left under a parking or storage agreement.

School is back, which means somebody in your house is counting down. Quick quiz. How old do you have to be in Arizona to get a graduated instruction permit?

Drop your guess in the comments before you read on.

The answer is 15 years and 6 months. Once a teen passes the written test and a vision screening, that permit lets them drive with a licensed adult who is at least 21 sitting in the front passenger seat.

After holding the permit for six months and turning 16, they can take the road test for a graduated license. We handle written tests, road tests and first licenses right here in Apache Junction, so if you have a countdown happening at your kitchen table, we can help.

Parents, be honest. How nervous were you the first time you handed over the keys?
