A simple question I ask salespeople looking to produce more is, "How many rods in the water?"
If you are going fishing and the goal is to catch as many fish as you can, who will catch more fish, the guy with 1 rod in the water or the guy with 10?
Now, while having 10 rods in the water when fishing is illegal, this is just an analogy.
My point is this,
Many salespeople show up with 1 to 3 rods in the water.
1) Walk in traffic
2) Internet Leads
3) phone traffic
With these 1 to 3 rods, they continue to sell 8 - 12 cars each month and wonder why they can't punch through to 20+ consistently.
The answer is simple, get more rods in the water!
4) Referrals at the point of delivery
5) Networking Groups
6) Neighborhood Partnership Programs
7) Social Media Personal Brand Development
8) Foolproof Follow Up Systems
9) Competition Back Scratch Relationships
10) B2B Synergies
Those are 10 of the 15 that I teach salespeople that guarantee performance!
Look, the key is being able to create enough opportunities to afford failure. During that process, repetition becomes a strength builder and your abilities develop at the same time.
