OVERVIEW: The Marine/Service Technician is responsible for the repair and overhaul of boats, machinery and trailers. KEY TASKS: • Examine boat and discuss the nature and extent of damage or malfunction with the service advisor or customer. • Perform diagnostics and repair of all types of marine engines and transmissions/drives/generators. • Perform mechanical repair work such as: • remove engine, transom or outdrive • disassemble unit and inspect parts for wear • overhaul or replace carburetors, blowers, generators, distributors, starters, pumps, electrical and fuel systems • rebuild parts such as engine cylinder blocks • rewire ignition system, lights and instrument panel • replace and adjust taillights • install and repair accessories such as radios, heaters, mirrors, and windshield wipers • Operate a hydraulic jack or hoist as needed. • Advise customers and/or insurance adjusters as to necessary repairs. • Complete repair work utilizing service scheduler and SSO’s within the established timeframe • Ensure all warranty work is completed according to manufacture’s guidelines • Safely operate customer vessels during diagnostic water testing operations • Maintain tools in good condition and according to guidelines • Other duties as assigned

Outboard Engine Technician:
NEAB is seeking an experienced Outboard Engine Mechanic. Candidates are responsible to identify, diagnose and repair two and four stroke outboard engines and boat systems to include electrical systems, plumbing and rigging. Qualified candidates must be able to communicate with service advisors and the parts department throughout the repair process to aid in the establishment of a proper written estimate/work order. Ideal candidates should already hold certifications in Yamaha and Mercury engine repair and maintenance. This is a full-time position with seasonal overtime.

Fiberglass & Gelcoat Tech Position

Position repairs fiberglass boat hulls, decks, and small parts using spray gun with paint, buffer with wax, polish, compound, fillers, putty, and/or paste
Hand tools may include gel-coat spray equipment, grinders, buffer, drill, or other specialty tools and fixtures
Responsible for boat inspection and an understanding of fiberglass finish or basic use of abrasives
Works following specific job instructions, frequently reading and providing verbal and/or written status of part completion
May include handling and application of solvents, paints, pastes, putty, and wax along with proper disposal.
Ability to recognize and protect precious boat components while performing finishing duties.
Other tasks may involve:
Removal/repair/installation of other bodywork pieces such as decals, emblems, rubrails, and other small components.
Deep upholstery cleaning and light repair
Execution/oversight of boat detailing processes.

Experience using foam core, polyurethane foam, fabrication of structural parts, painting and finishing a plus. Knowledge of the use of common measuring tools, precision measuring gages and alignment fixtures to perform structural repairs is preferred, but not essential. Materials handled include polyester, vinyl ester, epoxy and urethanes.
