If you are loading batteries in the front of a Corvair EV conversion, recommend going with the "Hot Rod" spring kit from Clarks Corvair parts. We have 6 Tesla S packs in front. First photo is before, second is after. Got about 2" lift. Bit of a PITA, but there is not much I do that is not a PITA.

Hydraulic brakes, 2.5KW hub motor, lockable rear rack, all required lights. Removable lithium-ion 72V 38.4Ah battery pack can be charged at any 120V plug. Range of up to 35 miles/top speeds of 45 mph+. Some have minor scraping; most have never been used. Available in white and red. Control box with timed pre-charge for the 66 Corvair. Timer is prob overkill, but inexpensive. I don't know what other people are experiencing on the Hyper9 controllers, but the parasitic draw I am seeing by keeping the pre-charge continually powered is higher than expected.
