Racers,
I want to be transparent with all of you about a decision that we have made for Amarillo Dragway.
Due to the continued rise in operating expenses, inflation, and the overall cost of putting on quality events, we will be increasing our gate admission to $15, class entry fees by $10 per class, and buy-backs by $5.
This is not a change that I wanted to make, and I understand that any increase affects each of you and your racing budget. However, the reality is that nearly everything required to operate a racetrack has increased dramatically in cost over the last several years. Fuel, equipment, maintenance, track preparation products, insurance, utilities, and facility improvements have all seen significant increases.
What's important to note is that while these costs have continued to rise, Amarillo Dragway has not increased gate admission. In fact, last year we actually reduced the gate fee in an effort to make racing more affordable for our racers and families. We have worked hard to absorb these rising costs for as long as possible, but to continue operating and maintaining the facility at the level you deserve, these adjustments have become necessary.
Please know that every dollar invested back into Amarillo Dragway goes right back into the facility and racer experience. From track preparation and equipment upgrades to facility improvements and maintaining a safe racing environment, we remain committed to providing the best experience possible for our racers and fans.
Most importantly, I want each of you to know that I am not going anywhere.
I remain fully committed to Amarillo Dragway, to our racers, and to the future of this facility. I will continue to do everything within my power to provide you with the best racetrack possible—one built on fairness, integrity, transparency, and a genuine love for this sport.
When I make decisions, they're never made lightly. They're made with the long-term health of the track, the safety of our racers, and the future of drag racing in Amarillo in mind.
Our goal has always been to provide a safe, fair, family-friendly place to race, and that commitment will not change. These adjustments simply allow us to continue improving and maintaining the facility while ensuring Amarillo Dragway remains strong for years to come.
I am incredibly grateful for your continued support, encouragement, and trust. Many of you have become more than racers; you've become friends and part of the Amarillo Dragway family. Your support allows us to continue improving, growing, and providing a place where families can come together and enjoy the sport we all love.
Thank you for standing behind us. Thank you for believing in Amarillo Dragway. We know the sacrifices that racers and families make to be here each weekend, and we never take that for granted.
Together, we'll continue building a racetrack that we're all proud to call home.
