The Sharp’s story

In 1964, Alvin and Mary Sharp decided to live their dream of becoming a motorcycle dealer. They opened Sharp's Motorcycle Sales in Pampa, Texas. At that time they were a dealer for BSA and Bridgestone motorcycles.

Two years later, Alvin and Mary became a Honda dealer and the name was changed to Sharp's Honda. In 1970, they made the move to Amarillo and opened one of the largest dealerships in Texas. For the next twenty plus years, Alvin and Mary enjoyed great success as a Honda dealer growing from their 1000 sq. ft. house to a 33,000 sq. ft. shop.

In the mid eighties Polaris off road was added to the bunch, and with the nineties came the addition of Yamaha, Suzuki around 1995. KTM motorcycles were brought on around 2002 and have been a great addition to the line-up. Now known as Sharp's Motorsports, a new partnership was formed by Alvin Sharp, Keevin Sharp and Rick Higgins. Later, Polaris’ Victory lineup of American-made motorcycles were added as well as the Slingshot 3-wheeled auto-cycles in 2015.

As the impact of the internet and other on-line markets continues, we have always remained committed to being the hometown experts, and providing personal service across our parts, accessories, sales and service staff.
