Customer explained to me that his shock was serviced about 20k miles ago. He stated that the shock was leaking oil from around the shaft. The shop that serviced these shocks damaged the nitrogen reservoir, you can see in the video the bubbling. The damage is NOT repairable. the gen 1 shocks had some flaws in design and if not properly serviced parts wear prematurely. I’m seeing a lot of shaft replacement because bushings and wear bands are not being replaced when service is performed.

This was an adventure, replaced lower control arms and bearings in the differential housing. 4Runners and tacomas are notorious for vibration in the cv shaft on lifted vehicles. Replacing the needle bearing on the drivers side with a bushing solved the problem.

Small trip to Virginia with lots packed in. This time with the kids has been needed.

A great picture of a great couple. A little over a year since my dad past and it still feels like yesterday. I don’t know how to get past such a loss. I was blessed to have such a loving set of parents.

Work, work, and more work.......

Taking a break from the norm. The 1984 XR200 was in need of a good tune up, the bike came in with the carb a mess, and front and rear shocks needed attention. She went back home running like a champ. The 1986 XR250R will be getting a full restoration.
