Best Fix Auto Repair is now closed! We had a great run and I can't thank all my wonderful customers enough for helping me make it all possible!

With the massive decline in auto parts quality over the last few years it has gotten harder and harder to provide a quality service for my customers and the stress of never knowing if I can get a working part to fix a customers car has become untenable.

Thanks again for all the years of loyal customers and I'm so happy that I was able to help as many people as I did while still open.

Story time!

On a regular basis I'm told that having your car repaired at a mechanic is just too expensive and they can't afford it. Recently I had a great example of how many times, it's actually cheaper to take your vehicle into a shop. One of my customer brought in a GMC truck that had a misfire, the owner of the vehicle had already spent a considerable amount of time and money trying to find the problem. They had replaced all the spark plugs, wires, swapped ignition coils around, and spent quite a lot of time researching the problem. After not being able to find it they brought it in for me to look at.

I started my normal diagnostic testing process by hooking up my diagnostic scanner and reviewing the misfire data, it was a steady misfire on cylinder 3. I got out my tester to verify the spark for that cylinder but before I could even hook it up I spotted the problem, the porcelain insulator on the number 3 spark plug was cracked. The cracked insulator was allowing the spark to jump from the plug to the cylinder head instead of inside the cylinder like it should be. I replaced the one spark plug and the truck runs as good as new now.

Something as small as a cracked insulator can cause huge headaches on today's vehicle. I always recommend bringing in your vehicle for a professional inspection/diagnostic when you're having an issue. Fun Fact Friday!

Did you know that modern vehicles are even more sensitive to dirty oil than what we grew up with? Unfortunately, it's true! Modern vehicles have many tiny passageways that the oil must travel through to control things like engine valve timing. These small passageways are extremely prone to clogging which will lead to expensive components requiring replacement much sooner than otherwise would have been needed! Keeping up with oil changes is the single most important thing you can do to ensure a long life from your vehicle. Do not put it off!

Fun Fact Friday!

Did you know that worn suspension components can lead to accelerated tire wear and even more expensive repairs? It's true! Worn suspension components will lead to poor tire alignment angles that will cause your tires to wear both quicker and uneven, in extreme cases worn out suspension components can even lead to other damaged parts that wouldn't have needed replaced before. Having your vehicle's suspension inspected for any worn out components is one of the best ways to save money in the long run!

If you car is pulling to one side, wearing tires weird, jerking the steering wheel when you hit a pothole, or just feels wrong to you, let me find and fix your problem before any further damage is caused!
