Stop wasting money and make your own fender mounts. It’s one of the easiest things you can fabricate.

If it’s a little off a little not big deal. It’s just holding on the fender, not holding the bike together. If you hate it just restart. There’s a difference and people get way too in their head about stuff like this. Get it close, get it solid, move on. I’ll come back and final weld everything once it’s all where I want it. If you get ahead of yourself and weld it all in place now you might be having extra trouble down the line if you need it moved.

Here’s the deal with your wheel offset…

If you take the back fender off you’ll see every Harley sits offset a little to one side and they build them like that intentionally. Your brake caliper has to live somewhere and your chain’s gotta line up close enough with your trans sprocket. So don’t get hung up on dead center.

When you’re building a chopper you’re gonna have to build or buy spacers till it fits just right. There’s plenty of kit options out there, but spacers ain’t hard. Take a swing at doing it yourself.

No lift? No Problem.

Don’t let not having a professional lift stop you from starting a build. I built bikes for years without one and honestly there’s plenty of days I still don’t use mine.

Flat jack runs you 70 or 80 bucks on eBay and works great. Or build yourself a wood table, 8 foot by 3, six or eight inches off the ground. When it’s time to get the bike down you either call some buddies over or run a ramp off the end. My buddy Will does his whole build off pallet jacks in his living room. Not a garage. His living room.

All you actually need is the bike standing upright and not moving. Everything else is just comfort.
