A little more progress in the bumper department today. How do you curve a straight bumper? You use a HUGE press and expensive tooling. Who has that? I decided to cut the crap out of it and see if I could put a nice radius on it.

Christmas vacation finally! I finally have some time to get some work done out in the shop. Worked on getting a bumper set up and mounted. I've used a old, I think it's a 1960 Chevy truck bumper. Funny, I can't seem to find any bumper brackets that mount a 60 chevy truck bumper to a 1969 Camaro frame with a 1950 Ford body.

Another shortfall was that this car didn't come with bumpers. It didn't take me long to figure out that I didn't really want to spend $1000 on bumpers and take them out of circulation for someone that was doing a real honest to goodness restoration. That led me to the interwebs and I landed a bumper from a 1950 something pick up truck. I lopped the outside ends off and will figure out how to mount them then fill in the center void.

Well, as Christmas approaches I've managed to find a little time to get after the project. After an exhaustive but successful search for hood hinges, they've been mounted and tweaked, gaps set etc. The hood was as rigid as a well cooked noodle. There was no bracing in the hood so I built a little something to stiffen things up a bit. Just temporary until I figure out something a little better looking.
