Let us look at the big question that is a part of the buying process - The Credit Score Range.
Before applying for financing, either in-house or through the bank, the first thing to work on is your credit score. The higher your credit score, the better your odds of qualifying. Therefore, before choosing to get a co-signer or accept outrageous interest rates, you should work on your credit score.
Moreover, rather than applying with your personal credit score, you want to register your business as an LLC or Corporation. Having an LLC or a Corporation has the greatest impact on your application. Apart from credit score, your business is reviewed too.
Once you start the whole process, you want to keep track of a few things at once. At this point, you want to demonstrate that you have at least one to two years of over-the-road truck experience plus a good credit score of 650 or higher.
Typically, when you apply with all the information needed, you'll know if you qualify within 24 to 72 hours. The process won't affect your credit if a soft credit check is done. Once approved, your credit score will be affected by a hard credit inquiry.
In the end, no matter your credit score, you can always find someone who can be your consigner or a co-borrower. Hence, what matters most is working with the right salesman: to choose the right truck, to get a better perspective of your chances, and to help you present yourself, and your business as trustworthy.
