⚠️ Changes in traffic

The earlier you notice something, the more time you have to decide what to do.

That can mean smoother braking, better lane positioning, and fewer last-second decisions.

🚗 LANE CHANGES FEEL LIKE A LOT WHEN YOU'RE LEARNING.

You're watching traffic ahead while also trying to figure out what's beside and behind you.

That's why you need a repeatable process:

🪞 MIRROR — Check traffic around you.

💡 SIGNAL — Communicate what you intend to do.

👀 BLIND SPOT — Look where your mirrors can't.

🚗 MOVE — Change lanes smoothly when you know it's safe.

And remember:

Turning on your signal doesn't automatically make the lane available.

You still have to verify that you have a safe opening.

Learn the process. Practice the process. Make it a habit.

🅿️ PARALLEL PARKING STRESSING YOU OUT?

Don't try to guess your way into the space.

Parallel parking becomes much easier when you learn a repeatable process.

You'll work on:

🚗 Proper starting position
👀 Using reference points
👐 Knowing when to turn the wheel
↩️ Controlling the vehicle while reversing
🎯 Straightening inside the space

At first, you'll have to think through every step.

Then you practice.

And practice again.

Eventually, the sequence starts becoming natural.

🚗 HAVING TROUBLE KEEPING THE CAR CENTERED?

A lot of beginner drivers drift left and right when they first start learning.

One reason?

They're looking too close to the vehicle.

If you stare at the lane line or directly over the hood, you'll often make constant steering corrections.

Instead:

👀 Look farther down the road
👐 Keep your hands relaxed
🚗 Make small steering adjustments
🎯 Aim where you want the vehicle to travel
🛣️ Use your peripheral vision to monitor lane position

Your hands often follow your eyes.

Look farther ahead and give the vehicle time to respond.

Lane control gets better with proper instruction and practice.

🛑 STOP MEANS A COMPLETE STOP.

Rolling through a stop sign is a habit you don't want to develop while learning to drive.

When approaching a stop:

1️⃣ Start slowing down early.
2️⃣ Stop completely at the proper location.
3️⃣ Look for vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists.
4️⃣ Determine when it's safe to proceed.
5️⃣ Accelerate smoothly.

Don't treat the stop sign like something you simply need to get past.

Use the stop to observe what's happening around you and make your next decision.
