Does my car have a belt? Most likely, but some don’t. They should be checked every service and changed when they are worn. What does worn look like? Standard rubber belts would crack indicating replacement. Newer EPDM belts rarely crack but they do wear down, get thin and stretch. A special measuring tool is needed that your mechanic should own. We have several so if we say it’s time, then do it before it breaks or falls off leaving you stranded.

Brake pads, which one is good?
An experienced automotive technician will have a brand preference because experience tells them what works and what doesn’t. Pads are like baking a cake. The quality of the ingredients and their ratios create a good result and that costs a bit more but it’s worth it!

In simple terms a tie rod is what connects your steering rack to the wheels. There is an inner and an outer and they can both wear out over time. A worn component is usually loose and allows abnormal movemnt resulting in a wandering steering wheel at speed, clunking or squeaking noise or abnomal tire wear. If you have any of these conditions, have it checked right away!
