Today we remember the thousands of innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001. Countless first responders and ordinary citizens acted selflessly to save the lives of strangers. Many more Americans stood up in our armed forces to defend and protect our nation. In total, 2,977 Americans lost their lives that day, and over 6,000 others were injured. 412 of the victims who lost their lives were emergency responders. 🇺🇸
