Well this really sucks. If you guys aren't familiar with 1320 Video, it's founder Kyle Loftis just passed. Kyle and 1320 without a doubt has been a major influence in my life as well as tens of thousands of other car geeks out there for well over 20 years by supplying the best underground gritty journalistic view on automotive racing, specifically drag racing. Early on Kyle's coverage of drag racing, specifically underground racing , was to take an indepth look at all the racers and thier cars from professionals all the way to amatuers, as long as they had something interesting to offer, and this was in 2003 before YouTube! I myself remember checking his webpage religeously for new video uploads. In the beginning all the mainstream media outlets never took on such an approach so they never bothered for any coverage. What Kyle brought to the table with 1320 video, is the most interesting and real coverage of automotive drag racing ever captured to the point where mainstream outlets like Discovery eventually bent at the knee and introduced shows like Street Outlaws. Despite the fake network TV drama that was introduced, it was an ok show, i still watched it but 1320 had the real scoop, and guess what? A bunch of the stars of that show also popped up on 1320! What Kyle has done with 1320 video is bring awareness to this fantastic sport through his own love of the sport, not by looking into the ESPN pits of professional race teams at the nearest NHRA Pro race track, but rather the regular guy with a day job, who comes out at night to build his car and race it. Because of that so many people who started out as fans at home would have never launched their own YouTube channels and started a career in racing to further the sport and the following.
I know the 1320 family is hurting right now, I offer you my condolences, I'd like to say thank you for the years of content and you are all certainly appreciated. I'll be looking out for the next videos to come.
Sincerely
-Oz I.
