Happy Labor Day!
As we head into the 1st Monday in September, it’s a good time to pause and recognize the people who keep the country running — the workers who build, serve, create, care, and innovate every day.
Labor Day began in the late 1800s as a celebration of the American labor movement. It became a federal holiday in 1894, giving official recognition to the contributions of working people and the progress made toward fair wages, safer conditions, and reasonable hours. What started with parades and union gatherings has grown into a national weekend of rest, family time, and the unofficial end of summer.
Whether you’re grilling with friends, hitting a last-minute sale, taking a long weekend trip, or simply enjoying a day off — the holiday is a reminder that time off matters — and that the work we do the other 364 days of the year deserves respect.
