Ever wonder why a brand-new car — or a freshly painted one — already has swirl marks under the right light? 🤔
It’s not neglect. Every time a mitt or automatic wash drags dirt across the paint, it puts tiny scratches in the clear coat. Do that enough times and it adds up, even on a car that’s barely been driven.
✅ The fix for prevention: always pre-rinse before your contact wash. Knocking off heavy dirt and grime first means there’s way less grit left to drag across the paint when you actually touch it with a mitt.
✅ Already have swirls or scratches? That’s exactly what a paint correction is for — machine-polishing the clear coat level again so it looks the way it’s supposed to.
That’s exactly what we did on this 1969 Camaro RS in the video 🏁 — full paint correction, then protected it with a 3-year ceramic coating to keep it looking like this.
