It's been awhile since Derrick Amberg has been able to work on the truck! He made some good progress today replacing all the passenger front end.

Replaced: Lower & Upper Ball Joints, Shock, Spring, Rotor, Wheel Bearings, Caliper, Pads

Original, cleaned and put back: Lower & Upper Control Arms, Upper Control Arm Spacers, Steering Knuckle, Backing Plate

Well got back to Ashley this weekend.. got the whole underneath front end pulled out and I can definitely say, the rust, dirt, and grease does NOT help when getting to the bolts 😬

Now time for the parts ordering, cleaning, and painting!

Cleaned up and painted with new brakes suspension and axle:

Drums(currently one the hub, so I could put wheels on to roll around)
Adjusting Kit
Hardware/springs
Wheel Cylinders

Suspension:
Leaf Springs
Shackles
U Bolts
Shocks

Axle:
Cleaned and Painted
Gear oil
Cover gasket
Gears inside looked great 😊

Now time for the assembly! Hopefully it's not as painful to put back together like it was taking apart 😅

From Derrick Amberg: Got the rear dissembled on the 1972 GMC Sierra Grande Rebuild - Derrick and Kaitlyn and time to clean it all up, paint, and replace… replacing all braking components, suspension, fluid, and rubber…

Had to cut 😈 the Leaf spring U bolts as they were too far gone from rust and buy a heat gun to get after the leaf spring shackle bolts… turns out one of the leaves on the leaf spring from the driver side was actually broken 😅… all parts are on order and assembly will be soon!

Look at Kaitlyn Davenport getting dirty 🙌
