⚠️ Local Driver Alert ⚠️

Looks like we’ll need to navigate some construction starting July 20th. State Route 178 at I-81 will be closed for up to 45 days.

Make sure to check the official detours in the post below so you don't get stuck on your way to or from the Village of Adams.

Safe travels, everyone!

Official date set.

Project engineers have confirmed that July 20th is now the set date that State Route 178 (West Chruch St) will be closed at I-81.

Starting July 20th I-81 South will not be accessible from the Village of Adams. If you are coming from Watertown you’ll need to exit I-81 in Adams Center and take Route 11 into the village.

You will still be able to get onto/off I-81 North and get into the village.

You will also be detoured if trying to get from Adams to Belleville and Henderson if using State Route 178 from Adams.

Remember, there is a low clearance bridge on Liberty Street, so all large trucks will need to go to Pierpont Manor to get to Belleville.

This closure is expected to last for up to 45 days.
